Membership
Join CROSEC
Membership is free for retailers and always will be. Nothing is asked of you at signup. You get the research as it is published and a say in what the association builds next.
What you get
Threat alerts Coming soon
Early warning when other members see a new fraud pattern emerging, before it reaches you.
Published research
Original analysis of fraud in digital commerce, delivered to your inbox.
Category benchmarking Coming soon
Contribute aggregate figures against a common schema, receive anonymised category benchmarks back.
Build the case
A loss too small for one retailer to pursue becomes a case worth acting on once the same pattern is documented across many.
Free for retailers, always
CROSEC is a support association, led by retailers, for retailers. Joining is free and it stays free. There is no paid tier waiting behind it and no point at which the door closes.
What members get out of it grows with what the membership puts in, which is why the association is directed by the retailers in it rather than by anyone outside.

How CROSEC operates
What joining actually involves
Right now, nothing is asked of you. CROSEC is not collecting data from members and is not going to spring it on you later. Here is the honest state of it, before you sign up rather than after.
What is live today
Published research, sent to you as it is released, and a say in what the association works on next. Threat alerts and category benchmarking are being built and are marked as such above. We would rather tell you that than imply otherwise.
What we ask of you
Nothing. We are not requesting figures, incident reports or any other data from members at this stage. Joining costs you an email address and the time it takes to read what we send.
If that ever changes
Benchmarking only works if retailers contribute to it, so at some point we will ask. When we do it will be an explicit opt-in, with the schema and the handling published first. Members who only ever want to read will always be able to only read.
What we will never ask for
Transaction-level data. Customer records. Personal data about your shoppers. Anything identifying an individual. If a request would need your legal team to think hard about it, we are not going to make it.
Competition law
A hard boundary, not a guideline. Pricing, margins, supplier contract rates, marketing strategy and market allocation are excluded from every discussion. Meetings run under Chatham House rules and members take part in a personal capacity.
Who this is for
Retail risk, loss prevention, fraud, security and e-commerce teams. If you own any part of the fraud problem at a retailer, you qualify. There is no size threshold and no vetting queue.
